Giving Back: January

Why Give?

We recognize that our world is better off when we practice the art of giving.

As a company, we believe that we should be profitable but with those profits should be good stewards to our local community. That being said, we are going to feature a charity spotlight that our employees pick on a monthly basis in 2020.

Without further ado – meet our January 2020 Charity Spotlight – Snooty Giggles Dog Rescue – chosen by our CEO Justin Zebell and his wife Wendi.

Tell us about the organization you chose.

Snooty Giggles Dog Rescue started in 2005 as a grassroots effort to care for sick, injured, senior, or special needs dogs. Founder Shawn Aswad recognized that, at the time, there wasn’t any assistance being offered in the middle Tennessee area, or in all of the south region really, to help with these specific cases, and she wanted to remedy that. Her mission gained traction & much support, and by 2010, they gained their 501(c)3 status. Snooty Giggles helps any dog they can, regardless of breed, size, or age, as long as there is a foster home available to suit the animal’s needs and the funds to support their care. More recently, Snooty Giggles has branched out to help animals from all different species, from farm animals to small pets, like guinea pigs, chinchillas, rabbits, and reptiles.

How has this organization impacted you personally?

We began fostering for Snooty Giggles in the spring of 2011. While we’ve had almost two dozen foster dogs, it was Zac Brown, a foster who came to us in October of 2011, who has made the biggest impact. Zachy fit in so well with our family, that we just had to keep him. He has been THE. BEST. DOG. He has brought love and comfort and companionship to us over the last 8+ years.

Finish the sentence: I give back because…

It’s a privilege to care for the living creatures who aren’t able to care for themselves. To help dogs who are injured, ailing, or just in need of a chance at love is such a huge blessing. They absolutely give me more than I could ever give them.

If you could give a word of encouragement to this organization, what would it be?

Keep it up, Snooties! Y’all do amazing work & are an amazing tribe! I’m glad to be a small part of it.
